In the SPOTLIGHT: 2015-2016

Our 2016 Annual Spring Luncheon was celebratory in so many different ways. We started off with a program by Distinguished Professor Philip W. Rundel's presentation titled "Our California Flora in a Global Context." Next we honored our own Joanne Knopoff, this year's recipient of the Outstanding FWC Member Award. Jo's contributions to FWC go back to the 1960s when she joined the organization, she was President (1973-1974), and has been contributing to FWC in many substantial ways since the 60s.

Past Presidents Panel Co-Chair Zorana Ercegovac introduced "Jo" and briefly spoke of Jo's accomplishments as President, Vice President for Programs, Vice President for Sections, representative to the Faculty Center Board of Governors, and in many other leadership positions.

Finally, we enjoyed The 2016 Sylvia Winstein UCLA Emeriti Arts and Crafts Exhibit. Twenty six artists and their works were featuring photography, drawings, watercolors, painting, quilting, jewelry, and mixed media.

Social interactions at Spring Luncheons and Artists' Exhibits offers an opportunity to network with FWC members across different sections, to be inspired by, plan for the following season, and chat about interesting programs, campus events, and FWC Centennial Planning in 2017-2018.
